    Hi, I recently followed the recent Magento recommendation to enable Form Key Validation on Checkout but the checkout process gets stuck at step 4 Shipping method. Following online advice, I tried amending the template’s payment.html file by adding <?php echo $this->getBlockHtml(‘formkey’) ?> to between <form action=”” id=”co-payment-form”> and <fieldset> <?php echo $this->getChildHtml(‘methods’) ?> </fieldset>’.

    However, this did not work. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks.

    This is my solution:
    in the folder “app/design/frontend/accessshop/default/template/checkout/onepage
    for the file “shipping.phtml“, “shipping_method.phtml” and “payment.phtml
    after the row that contain this code:
    <form action=”” …….
    add the this row
    <input type=”hidden” name=”form_key” value=”<?php echo Mage::getSingleton(‘core/session’)->getFormKey() ?>” />

    Hi, thanks, I added the code to those 3 files, but it did not work. I just see the first 3 tabs on the checkout page, with the first one closed instead of open. Any further suggestions appreciated?

    Hi sussexlongman.
    Try to disactivate the theme and compare the “Form information” to the same checkout page with the theme enable.

    Hi, I did that and the default theme worked fine with formkey validation on. So I then had a look at the rwd template and the files you referred to. By adding <?php echo $this->getBlockHtml(‘formkey’) ?> to the line before the closing </form> in those 3 files (like it is in the rwd template), I am now able to have form validation on and proceed through the checkout. Thanks for your help. It helped me get there.

    Hi, I reverted to the default theme, turned form key validation on, and the checkout worked fine. So I had a look at the rwd template files. In the 3 files – “shipping.phtml“, “shipping_method.phtml” and “payment.phtml”, <?php echo $this->getBlockHtml(‘formkey’) ?> was positioned just before the closing form tag </form>. I changed the 3 files in accessshop to replicate this, and I am now able to have form validation on and proceed through the checkout. Thanks for your help. It helped me get there.
